NPLU19 169/8 (48.0 Ovs)
INDU19 175/3 (18.1 Ovs)
India U19 won by 7 Wickets
That brings us to the end of proceedings. India and Nepal had both qualified before this match even started, but India will now go through as the group winners. Both teams will wait for the other results tomorrow to find out who they face in the quarters. For now, it's goodbye from here.
Kishan: We played really well today. The bowlers did really well, our fielding wasn't great today and in batting, we just wanted to hit the ball. We thought if we score quickly at the beginning, it will be much easier for the batsmen coming later. We started really well, Pant and me. I wanted to stay not out, but I got out. We need to lower the number of extras we give, we have been giving at least 10 extras every game. Hopefully, we can continue the winning run.
Rijal: They played really well. We need to stay motivated for the next match. Our shot making needs to be better. Our batting and bowling failed, we couldn't handle the pressure today and that's why we lost the game.
Pant: I was not in a hurry, I just played normal cricket. Wicket was good for the batsmen and that's why I went through the shots. Rahul Sir told me to play normal cricket, nothing special.
Rishabh Pant is the Man of the Match
The Indian Under-19 team has made a mockery of this target. While the Nepalese batsmen took 48 overs to garner this total, the Indians have chased it down with 29.5 overs still to go. Pant and Kishan started off with a bang, going gung-ho against the bowlers right from the word go. Pant notched up the fastest fifty at the Under-19 level, while Kishan too found some form and both of them put on a 100-plus opening stand to take the game away from Nepal. Even though they lost three wickets in quick succession, Sarfraz and Jaffer made sure that there were no more hiccups before they went past the finishing line.
