Lancashire have secured the services of England wicketkeeper batsman Jos Buttler for an additional three years.
Buttler has been one of Lancashire's key players since he joined them from Somerset in 2013, helping them win the NatWest T20 Blast last year with some vital contributions. He has also been an integral part of the England side, having played 15 Tests, 70 ODIs and 48 T20Is for the national side since his international debut against India in August 2011.
He holds the record for the fastest ODI hundred by an England player - a ton off just 46 balls against Pakistan in 2015.
"Jos is one of the most talented cricketers in the game and we are really pleased to have him at Emirates Old Trafford for at least the next three years," Lancashire's cricket director and head coach Ashley Giles told the club's website on Friday (May 27). "He has the ability to take games away from the opposition in all formats and he's one of the leading all-rounders in English cricket. His presence in last year's NatWest T20 Blast final at Edgbaston was a factor in us winning the competition. Jos is a great guy to have in the dressing room too and his experience at international level really benefits the squad."
Speaking about his contract extension, Buttler said: "I've really loved my time at Emirates Old Trafford and I'm looking forward to the next three years with Lancashire County Cricket Club. I hope to repay the faith shown in me and to help Lancashire win trophies in all competitions."
